Thurs 27th Jan: Light Square Gallery Adelaide College of the Arts (TAFE SA)

39 Light Square, Adelaide from 6pm. Shaw Hendry’s Amazing Simpsons memorabilia collection Exhibition which concludes February 10, 2010.

This is the very first time that the entire collection - belonging to late South Australian art world figure and Simpsons fanatic Shaw Hendry - has ever been seen in one place. Collected over a period of 15 years, the exhibition consists of items from all over the world and isn’t limited to those that are trademarked merchandise. Handmade puppets from Mexico, babushka dolls
from Russia and screen printed items by Hendry himself sit alongside
ultra rare, character shaped vinyl records, comics, toys, clothing and an impressive collection of plastic figurines, many of which remain in their original packaging.

Also included within the exhibition is what Hendry termed a ‘Show within a Show’ of Simpsons-inspired artworks by South Australian artists including Jess Dare, Romi Graham, Amira.h., Josh Twothousand, James Dodd, Adriana Loro (Hermano's seamstress), Craigh Marsden, Sandra Uray-Kennett, Patrick Rees, Jim Parker, Suzi Lockery,
Margaret Lloyd, Jessie Lumb, Riley O'Keeffe, Logan MacDonald, Sarah Eastick, Beth Evans, Taylor Parham and Brigid Noone.



Fri 28th Jan: Espionage Gallery, suite 1, level 2, 93 Rundle Mall (off Lindes Lane) the latest venture for stencil artist & illustrator Joshua Smith opens its doors for business with a bang showcasing some of the best local, interstate and international artists! The gallery will also run stencil art master classes on a regular basis taught by Joshua Smith. Featuring works by Gary Seaman, Peachpatrol, Elisa Mazzone, rem, Fredrock, Chew, Key, Koleszar, Kate Gagliardi, Bri Hammond, Store, Chris Edser, Joel VDK, Cloak&dagga, Matt Stuckey, James Dean, Thom Buchanan, Sam Barratt, Mr Tomek
